Chantelle Davies, 13, who was nicknamed 'little Tinkerbell' by her doting family, has lost her FOURTH battle with cancer.

She died at home in Gloucester on Tuesday night surrounded by her family.

Chantelle was first diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in 2005 and had fought off the disease three times.

But when she saw a specialist consultant in March she was told her rare form of bone cancer had returned for the fourth time, resulting in a tumour near her pelvis.

She fought on and friends and family launched the TinkerTel Fundraising Appeal last April to send her on a holiday of a lifetime.

Mother Karen, of Linden, Gloucester, said: 'They were all so amazing, but sadly, we didn't get to go on the holiday we wanted because Chantelle was too ill.'

Karen, 33, said much-loved Chantelle was always smiling and happy despite her six years of cancer torment.

'She was very cheeky and chirpy. She loved dancing and she had loads of friends.

'She was a typical 13-year-old, she loved spending time with her friends, jewellery, and her new little dog, Tinkerbell.

'She was very slight after battling cancer for so many years but she was so brave and was always smiling, even right until the end. She was our own little Tinkerbell.'

Chantelle lived with mother Karen and her husband Paul, 36, as well as brother  Daniel, 12, sister Casey, seven, and twins Derren and Carly, who are five.

Chantelle, underwent radiotherapy at Bristol Hospital for five weeks and then went to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in April for further treatment.

But at the beginning of December she was told that her treatment was no longer working.Karen, said: 'In December Chantelle came home to us. We celebrated the twins' birthday and spent a lovely Christmas as a family.

'We bought her a puppy at the start of December.

'She had always wanted a Chihuahua as it is her favourite dog and the closest we could find to her dream was a Daschund cross Chihuahua, which she called Tinkerbell.

'Paul and a friend did her a bedroom downstairs with pink everywhere and all things she liked to make it as nice as possible for her. She loved it.

'She passed away on Tuesday night about 9pm. It feels so surreal that she has gone. We will miss her so much.'
